When you become a Pet Supplies Plus® franchisee, you are offered a complete package of support services to start your business and keep your pet supplies franchise running. These include:

Site Selection

The Pet Supplies Plus team works with new franchisees to determine the best sites in the selected trade area. Potential pet supply franchise locations are reviewed to determine population, income levels, pet ownership and pet spending indexes in the selected trade area, prior to site approval. Traffic, visibility, access, signage and lease terms of the proposed location will also be evaluated.

Store Design and Layout

Once the pet supplies franchise site has been agreed upon and the initial build-out is complete, the Pet Supplies Plus design team will lay out the store, then once the store is ready, will work with the employees to set and stock the store.

Management and Employee Training

All new franchisees are required to attend 180 hours of Pet Supplies Plus management training at the corporate Support Service Center, or at alternate locations. The comprehensive training covers all management and operational aspects of a typical Pet Supplies Plus store. Full- and part-time employees are trained at the store level with comprehensive training manuals that are provided by Pet Supplies Plus corporate office.

Buying Power

Pet Supplies Plus franchisees benefit from the buying power of more than 250 Pet Supplies Plus stores. By developing solid relationships with leading manufacturers in the pet supply industry, Pet Supplies Plus franchisees can offer retail customers great values on all their pet supply needs.

Advertising

From pre-opening teasers and grand opening flyers to regular monthly ads, Pet Supplies Plus provides franchisees the expertise and advice to support their advertising questions and needs.

Merchandising

Pet Supplies Plus stores carry a broad selection of quality merchandise from the industry’s leading manufacturers and assist franchisees in selecting the right items to carry in their pet supplies franchise store. Pet Supplies Plus creates all store sets and will source approved vendors for products.

POS Hosting

With the Pet Supplies Plus POS hosting system, franchisees have the ability to print tags and signs at the store level. Features of the systems include item file maintenance, retail pricing, delivered costs, shelf signs and labels, store set printing, price verification, scanned inventory and product movement.

Operational Support

The Pet Supplies Plus District Team Leaders regularly visit stores to answer questions, share insights and best practices, and to offer strategies on ways to improve sales and profits.
